25 years of Aircell and Gogo – interview with company co-founder Jimmy Ray

It all started on a napkin in a barbecue restaurant in Denison, Texas in 1991, 25 years ago when an analog phone network was designed for private aviation. In this video, company co-founder Jimmy Ray brings us back to the early days of the Aircell, and what he thinks of how big our company has become.

We were initially called Aircell, and in 2008, Aircell launched Gogo In-flight Internet. As Gogo became the dominant brand, our entire company rebranded as Gogo in 2013. We currently operate as Gogo Commercial Aviation and Gogo Business Aviation.

This week, Gogo is exhibiting at the annual Airline Passenger Experience Expo in Singapore. On day one, we’ll be celebrating our anniversary with a special event along with hundreds of fellow aviation industry friends. During our upcoming month of celebrations, you’ll see contests, videos of company milestones and more.
