Gogo 2Ku operational update for January 13 2017

As we already move through the second week of this new year, things on the Gogo 2Ku installation lines have not slowed down. As of today, there are 101 aircraft with our 2Ku service installed. Needless to say, this is a massive milestone for us! We started to ramp up installations of this revolutionary satellite internet system late last year, and we’ve managed to reach unprecedented turnaround times for aircraft entering our installation lines.

2Ku is a unique dual antenna system developed by Gogo to bring global streaming-capable Internet to aircraft. With over 1500 aircraft committed to 2Ku across 14 different airlines, 2Ku is also one of the most successful in-flight communications products ever developed.

The 2Ku installation process is incredibly complex, making it even more impressive that our teams around the world are able to install around 1 plane a day. Passengers can find 2Ku flying today aboard AeroMexico, Delta and Gol. Other airlines soon to fly with 2Ku include Air Canada, British Airways, Air France and Virgin Atlantic.

Recently, we’ve been asking our fans to spot 2Ku installed aircraft and post to social media using hashtag #DomeSpotting. Below, you’ll see some of the latest photos. Should you happen to find one our 2Ku equipped planes for yourself, be sure to take a photo and post to Instagram or Twitter tagging them #DomeSpotting. Each week, we’ll select several fans to receive a one-of-a-kind 2Ku backpack filled with Gogo goodies!
