For several years, Gogo has used a Challenger 600 as our flying lab. This small 9 seater features our ATG and ATG-4 technology, along with Iridium and SwitftBroadband (as used by our Business Aviation division). As we evolve into a global provider and introduce new satellite based services, we have had to upgrade to something large enough to help us test these new products. Say hello to the new Gogo One – our 737-500.
With a fresh coat of paint and new seats, our engineers will now start work on preparing the aircraft to be equipped with GTO – our hybrid air-to-ground/satellite solution. GTO uses a revolutionary new antenna system to receive, and our existing ATG-4 network to transmit. We’ll continue to keep you updated on the progress being made on this installation here on Concourse. In the meantime, keep your eyes open at your local airport for the new Gogo One!
